DH,

Glad to see that you are fishing with Renegade Mike. He is surely one of the really good ones I spoke of earlier down there. I am somewhat reluctant to recommend boats on open boards like this one due to the simple expedient that there are a fair number of the good ones (and way too many crappy ones), I know and consider all of the top guys friends of long standing, and I don't want to appear to be favoring one over the others. But you have made a seriously good choice and I'm betting you're going to have a great trip. Please be sure to give Mike my regards.

Wireman,

Yeah, I'll bet that was one helluva ride with that big tuna during the early part of the fight. I have seen many big tunas and black ones too caught on that bank by pangero's. Unfortunately the water is quite shallow on that bank and if the fish don't run off of it to the deep water, many do get tail wrapped, die, and a lot of time is spent hand lining them up due to the light line used by virtually everyone. Of course, it ain't all dead fish handlining and the early stages of fights on The Gordos are usually hellfire for a while!

DH,

Glad to see that you have discovered Cabo. And yes, it was beyond imagination in the early days - which weren't too long ago, in fact - and it's still a pretty incredible place to fish today, as you have discovered. As for the night life, oh mercy! Just be careful, lad...there ARE some "things that go bump in the night" down there and they aren't all the lasses (and, of course, all of the lasses ain't really lasses !)

Good luck all.
