Thumbs up 3 Kings for easter

Once again we loaded up 20 totes.... a couple of fishing rods and a couple of boxes of beer for another awesome trip on the good ship UWANNAGO

in short we had a shocker on the lures going 0 from 14 or something like that but snaffled a nice fish on a livie on our way back from the king bank (d)

Heres a few photo's of the trip.

    North cape sunrise

This boat was like a magnet to every game boat at the hook, a few boats even scored a free puka that had come off the guys lines.

we made it to the kings by saturday night after a action packed afternoon where we found a nice patch of fish north of the crowd. We gave Steve centrefold and Jase on Te ariki a call and they both proceeded to tag a couple as soon as they got up to where we were...meanwhile we kept dropping them even after 15-20mins on fish

Zaras fish put on a mean display but I really need an slr as the old point an shoot always misses the action

3Kings and some mean sunset action

we had a beautiful anchorage that night and got some monster squid, turkeys, porae and goldies but no big trevs this time round.
I had a case of muppetry and lost a rather nice sp set overboard, after much piss taking Mike renamed NW bay "the bay of lost sol's"
I was gutted but day 3 made up for it in a big way!
    my PB bass @ 40kg

    Daves Kingi

    My rat

Just after midday we headed down the coast on our way home and found the motherload of bait. lures in and fresh livies sent out. it took about 10mins and we were on. Billfish aka the human winch in the harness and the fish put on a nice show. after giving me a hiding on the leader we had it secured and it was a real nice fish.

High fives and a beer or two and we set the gear again. not long after we had another strike and again the baits went out with the albie being bit but no hookup.
I think we had 4 hits on lures that afternoon and dropped them all. my fish was tight for 10 mins until it went apeshit and I felt the weight come off after a bit of a tanty and a bit of mozz time we headed south into the night for a broady drift. a few rums whilst prepping the baits and we were ready.

not long after getting to the garden patch steve on Ultimate game hooked up and landed a broady. we were stoked for him and as he was only 1mile away he came and showed us what the elusive broady looked like. nice.

Nothing more happened through the night and as we made our way south we found a suicidal mahi who joined us for dinner after trying to eat my big super plunger

our fish went 154.8 and was the biggest for the boat and will be tasting bloody nice as the angler has the worlds greatest fish smoker......its trailerable with a grill on the back and will smoke the whole fish in one go. all built with a bit of Kiwi ingenuity.

and that was my easter ....... not a bad way to spend a few days with mates(d)

I signed on for 3 days as a fill-in for May(the start of our summer). However more than that will get in the way of my jigging. I'm a gentleman of leisure these days

Although a few months of blood, sweat and tears would help out my health more than anything.

Horrible is a good way to describe it josh. We havent changed anything from what has been working so well for us this season and after the first day of dropped fish we soon started second guessing the methods with "what if's"
one drop was definitely angler/crew error but the rest were just messy feeding stripey's

p.s we are Bro's down here Bru's are south africa lol

Another outstanding installment of Mozza's NZ chronicles. Fine fishing and photography to go with some very enjoyable southern hemisphere English.
Looking forward to the next one already!
