I'd love to know why Intrepid would kill their 550 lb blue when they already knew a blue in the upper 800's was leading the World Cup. WHY???

Don't know..but one scenario that could exist: They could have been fishing the World Cup and Maui Jim Firecracker which was on July 4th and 5 th. Many boats fished the WC and Maui Jim in Kona..also Kona has a "side pool" along with the WC. So, even if you don't have a fish to win the WC...it could still win the money for biggest fish out of Kona.

None of this fact to the Intrepid..I'm only speaking of my WC/Kona Tourney experiences.
