The bigger TLD's are the way to go for the money. I have a couple of trinidads that are nice for some more money. I use an eclectic setup of TLDs, trinidads, old Penn 20 internationals, and if I could find one at the right price a 16s or two. I am going to add two TLD 50 2speeds and that will be my new big stuff. I have Senators for 50s at present.

For trolling, you should definitely go with TLD 25's and a little bit better rods then 12-30 lb setups. Go with a 20-50lb or similar class rod. The Avet EXW 4/0's would be great but would be overkill for inshore bait fishing most of the time. At least if you hook a large schoolie on the troll you should be able to run him down on a TLD 25 with 40 or 50 lb mono and a decent rod.

You definitely can't go wrong with TLD 15's with 12-30 lb rods for bait fishing. If you plan on chunking bluefins in the fall, or even bait fishing for stripers, togging, etc. you will use these rods all the time. I wouldn't troll tuna with them, though, unless the fish were very small and you were just messing around.

Upgrade those TLD's to carbon fiber drags before they see the water and you'll never have any problems out of them.
