    2-19 to 2-21 Isla Mujeres

I just got home from 3 days of fishing in Sailfish heaven. Me my dad and Vanessa fished onboard the 58' Weaver STRIKING LADY.

On day 1 we left the dock at 10:30 and only fished untill 3 due to the 8-10 foot seas that day but we ended up raising 6 sails and catching 1.

Day 2 we left the dock 9:15 and had the lines in the water by 9:50. 5 minutes after we got set up we hook a triple and end up catching 2 of them. over the next 2 hours we had another 13 sail bites and probably saw another 20 fish swim thru the spread without eating. We ended up heading for the dock at 4PM after going 11 for 21 on sails with alot of pulled hooks for the day.

Day 3 we pulled out at 9:30 and had the lines in the water a half hour later. Just like the day before the bite was hot and heavy in the morning only to fade out to a slow pick in the afternoon. We ended the day going 12 for 18 on sails and saw a bunch more come thru the baits that would not eat.

John, My old man a problem with the circle hooks but thats why I keep him on the bridge anyway. He kept trying to set the hook but by the 3rd day he had it down pretty good.

Pics should be up tomorrow night as soon as Vanessa unpacks the camera and downloads the pics.

I forgot to mention in the report that Vanessa caught her first ever sail on our second day of fishing and ended up catching 5 overall.

The island was great. Not the most beautiful island I ever saw but the people were very friendly, food was great and the fishing was outstanding.

We are looking into prices for a slip for next year.
