Vanessa, Congratulations on your first sails!!!!!!! If he does make you jump here in Jersey, DO NOT JUMP IN @ SOUTH JERSEY, you won't be able to get the stink off you. Do yourself a favor and dive in while you're offshore, water is warmer and much cleaner.
Once again congrats, I'm so jealous still waiting for my first billfish!
Sorry I missed you while we were down there. I've been swamped but I will post an Isla report tomorrow.
If you guys are serious about taking boats over, let me know and I will give you all of the details. There is a bit more to it than just loading up and heading over. Probably a bit more expensive than you are counting on to. Before I give all of the details, let me know if you want them.
Where do you think most people are underestimating the expenses? Just curious.
thanks
1. Insurance. Out of country increases rates.
2. Slip rent, there are no seasonal deals. Works out to be about 100 to 150 per day.
3. Cost coming and going.. fuel, customs costs etc.
4. General day to day costs of being out of the country. Cost of goods ads up quickly.
Thanks Mary! It was a really fun trip and I can't think of a better place to spend a winter week then on the water in Mexico! There's no shot that I'm going in the water in Jersey - Andy just needs to take me on another trip!
I hope you get a shot at a bill this season!
Great report and pixs! I'm dieing to head down there!

I was in Isla from Feb. 11th thru the 15th. We fished 3 days aboard the A-Salt Weapon with Capt. Dennis Endee. Cant wait to go again. This is a world class fishery for Sailfish. You cant beat the overall price of the trip.
