Thanks Purple. I don't want to hijack the thread by any means but I have a Blackfin 32' FB and been looking for a bait tank. Have you got one picked out yet?

Why do ya"ll run the short riggers from the chair and not the long riggers. Is it just how you do it and are comfortable with it or am I wrong for running my long riggers from the chair. Everywhere and every boat I've fished we always run the longs from the chair
would love to see a shot of the spread. our set up is similar except for the the flatline riggers that you have. I have seen them before and would love to try them. may have to get a couple.
Wasabi,
I dont have one picked out yet. Probably will go for an "Off Shore" tank seems how they are made local and I had good luck with the one on our Grady.
I have seen a few 33'Blackfins with a built-in tank at the transom. Probably an option or a model year change. I dont want to go custom and really dont want to put any more weight way back aft than I have to.
Good luck tankn' your rig.
Thanks for the info. Yeah, there are a couple of places in Florida that do the custom transom tanks. Pretty nice. Cost is about 3-3.5k. I'll check out the off-shore Thanks for the tip.
Successfully trolling a spread of 8, 9, 12, or 16 rods is a function of how the particular cockpit, rod holders, and riggers are set up, and how and where you place each rod, line, release clip, and bait or lure. Each boats combination may vary slightly, or greatly. With that being said, on the 61' Viking that I run, I troll the long riggers from the gunnels, but on my SeaTek I run the longs from the chair/rocket launcher.
The key to trolling a spread of many rods is understanding that when any combination of lines become tight, (hopefully with fat tunas on the ends), that all of the lines and rod tips clear each other.
That's my 2 cents.
Darn! And here I thought that we were doing great running just 10 rods! I guess, I could get a couple more out there. Hmmm......
