Was back at again yesterday in glorious fall weather here in CC Bay Massachusetts. We got an early start and were fishing by 6:45 am, just after first light. There were small signs of things to come, a few birds congregating here and there, a few small swirls that make you say did I just see that? then the first real jumper of the day after putting only a few hundred yards from my mark, and the fun began. We had fish up on the surface all day, airing out once again in small groups or singles. These fish varied in size from 90 pounders to some obvious 10 foot fish rolling along at the surface, very unhurried and unharried. Shut the boat down and enjoyed the best show on earth, hungry tuna skying out, gannets diving everywhere, and lots and lots of boils, bumpos, and missed hits. Along with of course a few fish, a 55" and a 59" hit the deck with one released, several others had almost come to the boat for release when hooks pulled, and as well we had 80 pound braid parted with ease on a jigged fish that raped the iron as it was speed jigged back up. All in all a great trip on a great a day with very few boats to share in the action.
Here are some pics, I button- holed this frisky guy right through the edge of the gill plates after a brief 6 minute fight, he went limp at first, but then went apeshit boatside after he realized the dart was in him, so I grabbed the BIG gaff and hauled his ass over green.
