10/12 No fish

I fished from 8AM to 10AM. I was using shrimp as bait and even tried to use Gulp! (2" shrimp cut in half) for a few minutes... no bites. The beach was crowded and surfers on the water -- not good. It was a holiday.

I lost one of my rigs again.

I think I need to buy heavier sinkers and try using smaller hooks. The rig package says it's for pompanos but the hooks may be too big for the small pompanos. I'm using 20lb line, I'll try my 9' rod with 12lb line.

We saw a big sea turtle dead and we found a kitten... we fed him with the shrimp I had left. Too bad I couldn't keep it
A girl said she wanted him so I handed it to her.

Sounds like things are starting off well. You seem to be getting out more than I am......one favor though.

nice pic of the surf jer. Catching is a plus, going to the water when it calls is a must. Keep the good times rolling jer.

Jer, nice looking water. Try doing what I do.... go fishing with your set-up, using shrimp, your particular wieghts and everything else ya got. Nothing happens, go 180 degrees and change up and go with dead bait fish and lighter or heavier wieght, find live bait and free-line,nothing happens then drop them on the bottom. Eventually you are going to find there happy place and you'll know what to fish that same time next year. Good Luck
