Thats actually a Bahama king... Very rare to get one to the boat in even taht good condition. They got things down there! Had a sixty pound class wahoo get run down and swallowed whole that same day...
Its fun trolling right on that edge. 60' to 3000' in about 30 yards... You can see the cudas all stack up and eyeball your baits but they know not to swim past that edge...
Bulls, tigers, makos, and a zillion small species all itchin for an easy meal...
Ya may get bonus letters cuz I'm posting from my cell phone

The drop off here is the same. The most common problem shark is not very big here.
The grey reef shark. big pain in the a$$. I wish they were makos. They average 4/6 feet. Hit anything trolled less than 8 knots. They have a special taste for daisey chains. Some are brown colored not grey. They will follow the boat for a mile or two before going back to the depths. Same shark live in the Bahamas but they call it the caribean reef shark. There is never only one of them. We usually see 8 or 10 in a pack.
When I'm fighting a fish and alla sudden it goes nuts,,,I know a shark is after it,,, I stop the boat for a second and free spool. The second the run is over I lock it up and horse da crap outta him. If I allready have him at the surface and see a shark, I horse that crap out of him,,, if the shark is close to the boat I gun the engine for a second to get it to pause, allowing me time to horse the fish.
I can't even use 50s here,,, too light to horse in the fish.
It seems when I fish west end or bimini on the western side of the Bahamas the kings run huge. Not uncommon to find one about 60lbs. The sharks are not nearly as bad as over in chub where that one shot was taken. Unless you get up around Great Issacs Light where they can get thick again.
Of course there are days like this. Bark at your deck hand that a blue is about to pile on on your left rigger and four times in a row he goes to the right side. Well, it involves some re training

Today sucked big... Started with a call from a custome I had last week to say their check was going to bounce. For me to call them when it does so they can reissue one.
Decided to do my big oil change for the big Bahamas trip. First found out that the previous owner customized the filters and the ones for the engine spec that I bout a dozen of wouldn't work. Gotm them up to temp and found oil pump didn't work. Second oil pump didn't work either but I re wired and got running. Sucked out 4 gallons of pretty bad oil. One of the jugs I put it in sprung a leak and dumped a gallon all over my deck. As I tried to stop its flow it just spread!
Got so caught up in trying to clean up that I forgot to put one oil cap back on the engine and painted even more of my engine comaprtment! Then I forgot to close the valve for the oil pump. So I had a very ugly mess. I soaped and scrubbed for hours. Ran my bilge pump to get rid of it all and when I shut it off. The thing started back siphoning and filling my boat up with water!!!! kicked her on and off a couple times and it stopped.
Got home to find that bait masters hadn't returned my call or answered my emails about bait for the bahamas.
Then read a piece of mail about raising membership fees on some friggin account I never signed up for. Evidently they have been billing through my aol
for years and I never noticed!!! First they tried to tell me I signed up throug a pop up. Then they told me I signed up from mail. I've had a pop up blocker on 24/7 since 1998 and I toss any solicitation in the mail. Told me to get all my bank statements for last 4 years so they can refund the 400 clams they have sapped from me.
Yeah right I'm gonna give them account information that they have already abused? In all my day sucked butt!
