November Updates...

Well the motor still isn't ready. The mechanic had to take another repower while waiting for the longblock of mine to show. Its been one delay after another and the guy who's repower hes doing won't give him two solid days to finish my job up. He's got most of the motor reassembled and should fire any day now but I've been hearing that for weeks.
So I have been out in my skiff for three half days so far and raising a couple sails each trip and catching one. A fair run of fall dolphin has had some pretty good size gaffers in the mix so its not all terrible... WEe're supposed to get a hard cold front and I would imagine that ought to get the sails snapping good...

Hey Deep, Im goining to be over in Fort Meyers in a week and a half. How far is WPB? We may run down to Islamorada, but could be convinced to run over there.

Figures... Thats when I'll be on my annual Jersey killathon. I leave the tuesday after Thanksgiving and don't get back til a week and a half later. With business so slow and screwed up I'm gonna be inspired to kill a freezer full of birds and bucks...

A ray of sunshine... Down here in the keys for a five day gig. Sails were a fair bite today with three of them, a good 20lb blackfin and two keeper grouper to spice it up. Bumper crop of Milfs this year at the dock...

Yeah, I should be. My intention is to kill ducks next week then do a Bambi and be back here late on the 8th and ready the boat on the 9th...

Today was a nice mixed bag. Started staked on the edge of a flat early. Baited a bunch and hooked two bones with one to the boat. The hoos were slow but we got a dozen. Trippled up on sails getting two then a single. Was just screwing around on the dock and put a live blue runner out while puttering around . Big blacktip shark hamered it and looked like a mako in the air before kinking and popping the wire...

ooooh! a second report for this Thanksgiving night. Drilled a permit off the dock then a 20lb tarpon. I put out a fresh shark baitand was in eating a punkin pie when off she started to scream. I use a penn9500ss with 30 for most sharks and this one was a zilla!Just about an hour and a half before releasing a big "relatively" bull of pushing 300lbs...

Well today was bluebird beautiful. Got on the edge of that flat again this mornfor a couple hours, Saw some bones and a couple bonnethead sharks but just couldn't connect. We ran offshore with a better looking bunch of live hoos later in the morn but we only managed a single blackfin. Had a shark off the dock eat the tuna carcass but ran between the two small mangove islands I have in my back yard here the take a turn which cut us off...

Windied up today... Bit on the choppy side. One sail for our efforts. A few king cut offs and a 7lb mutton on the deep bait.... Tomorrow morning will be creek fishing for little stuff then back to Palm where I'll leave for jersey again on Monday or Tuesday...

we have to talk about swords in march and how realistic it is. got the itch for one BAD!!
