I don't like posting sucky stuff but our suck fest is still in full swing. A few kings around and a few sails picking. Mahi and wahoo today were again slow. EVery time the wind swings to the north half at this time of year , save the fuel and don't bother.

Todays reports were slightly better with reports of fair mahi in 400' off a weed line and some bigger kings to 50+ lbs in some of their usual holding places. A tournament with 200 boats yesterday produced only one 12lb and one 8lb wahoo....

Even better today. My other boat isn't quite done and had to use the skiff again. Way layed the mahi. Not real big but plenty of them. We killed a dozen or so and let that many go...

Did an early half and found the Mahi bitingwhere I left them yesterday... Bounced off a sail that blind bit us...
Went back to other boat and continued engine redo... Finally got her timed right... Put her in boat and oilfilter doesnt fit... So we had to do a remote fitting and got her in and splashed... Went to to using boat bat and found that she was cooked. terminal melted trying to light old bad engine. So here it is 10:PM and I am finally back purring. No sea trial so I'l do a trolling speed run tomorrow and pray nothing else breaks...

well she ran and nothing broke. Not quite a hundreed percent but good... Slammed a couple small mahi out of the gate and then a coouple hours into it picked off a sloppy 40lb speciman. A cuda or two joined in. A couple bonito kept us from being bored then slew a dandy 30lb class blackfin tuna. Bounced off yet another sail. Didn't see him til the rod was bent over and he tore the bait off as he left the spread...

Very few openings left between now and when I head to Jersey and beat up on the makos with intruder. If interested in down here or up there let me know... I'd prefer to put forum fellows on the boat instead of just strangers...

I was gonna sneak out and give her a fun run today but oil leaking from the new engine kept me turning wrenches... Radio was cackling though and it would seem the kings were pretty good and a few nicer mahi were around. Surprisingly we even have a few sails around too. I have bounced two off this week while trolling but the guys live baiting for kings have been picking them...

Despite a short somewhere in the system the fishing went on today. A couple good mahi and raised three sails, getting one. For some reason they have been around in good numbers which is rare but nice surprise at this time of year...

Rough seas sick boat but plenty of fish. Still blowing oil and electrical issues... Mahi and kings were in good numbers along with one for two on sails. The current was screaming but the bite was on...

Seas flattened out nice today. Motor again puked out there with its funky little self setting breaker going off over an over. We picked a coupole mahi and a sail for the half so the people got what they wanted. Then I went ballistic on the motor. Grabbed a spare alternator and dialed the ***** in and redid the entire wiring then found my oil leak wasn't from over fill like the manufacturer said. It was from the brand new valve cover. seems the ran out of sealant at the factory and left about 5" unsealed! So I just did the reseat and reseal... can't test fire for several hours until the sealer sets...
