    Back In Florida!

    Well.
That 24 hour drive was about as boring as could be. The usual crud along the way. Some rain, some real major road work, motels that lie about their rates, and lousy radio... Got home and unloaded the car of death and popped a couple air fresheners in. Swung by the Deep C and she's lookin like she needs a fishin! So as soon as I get some goodies in my gut and reload my batteries, I'll be back out here practicing for the next week and a half...

Pulled my spread of blue marlin death yesterday and came up short. Today I tugged a lighter spread and picked off some small dolphin at least... Port motor didn't sound happy and I cut the trip short to assess the problem. It would appear to be some kind of short but I havn't found it yet. Gonna swap out my alternator and see if that helps... I have a hunch.

Motor just keeps getting sicker. Today I crawled out and picked some small mahi for a short trip while the mechanic tried to trouble shoot the beast. Need to keep trying diffeerent mechanics till I find one that can actually think like a diesel engineor preform excorsisms!

The rolling tackle box isn't a happy van above 73-74, transmission starts slipping and fuel burn gets bad. I drive down from north jersey. I'm usually about 20 hours but there was a load of road work, accidents and weather along the way...

A short run again with the mechanic yielded a couple bonitos today. Tested my various spreads and when the smoke would clear enough for me to see my spread it looked to be the right suff. Not that I'm gonna get a blue or white to raise in the intercoastal or near the beach but the spread does look deadly...

Well the sick motor gave up the ghost and appears that its going to be another new longblock to replace... Normally I would be going nuts but I'm headed back to Jersey to kill stuff and win the big three tournaments up there for a month so the replacement will take place during that time...

Just got back in from the Beach Haven tournament where I served as consultant instead of do all captain kind of guy... God do I hate not being the chief cook and bottle washer!!! . I'll detail later.
    John,
Yes I'd be a large. I brougtht it up with me in the box... You could put Capt Paul on it but don't feel compelled to... The jacket is great just on its own!
