IN THE PAST MONTH I HAVE LISTENED TO CHANNEL 18 WHERE MOST OF THE FALSE COMMERCIAL FISHERMEN DWELL NOWADAYS....CHANNEL 18 USED TO BE HOME THE MHC CHARTER FLEET WHO HAVE SENSE MOVED ON TO SCRAMBLERS AND SUCH.............NOTICE I SAID FALSE......BY FALSE I MEAN I AM SPEAKING OF GUYS WHO HAVE A REGULAR JOB OTHER THAN COMM' FISHING AND THINK THEY ARE A COMMERCIAL FISHERMEN BY OWNING A ENDORSEMENT TO SELL LICENSE...............THEY THINK THIS ENTITLES THEM TO 24/7 PRIVILEGE OF RUNNING THEIR MOUTH ON THE VHF

FIRST THING EVERY MORNING THEY TURN ON THE VHF AND START CALLING EVERY TOM DICK AND FREDDIE .....IT IS A FREE FOR-ALL AS TO WHO CAN TALK THE MOST.......I THINK LAST WEEK I HEARD THE BOAT PREDATOR AND SWASHBUCKLER BEING CALLED 100 TIMES A DAY.....NOW THIS IS JUST PLAIN RIDICULOUS.............YOU KNOW WHAT? I THINK MOST ARE SCARED SHITLESS OUT THERE AND TALK ING ON THE RADIO IS THEIR LITTLE SECURITY BLANKET.

AND ALSO LAST WEEK....I HEARD A MAN CHEWING SOMEONES ASS OUT FOR CUTTING ALL HIS LINES OFF.....IT WAS ABOUT AS UGLY AS ONE CAN GET........THE DEFENDANT DID HOWEVER COMEBACK ON THE VHF AND TELL THE PLANTIFF THAT HE WAS SORRY AND WOULD PAY FOR HIS DESTROYED GEAR.................NOW THAT WAS A FIRST.

EVERY FISHING ZONE ON THE EAST COAST HAS A VHF HOG.....BY HOG....I MEAN A HOG IS THE BOAT CAPTAIN WHO WANTS TO BE HEARD 12 HRS A DAY NON STOP AND NEVER HAS ONE THING WORTHY TO CONTRIBUTE.......MHC HAS IT'S OWN HOG CLUB....I HAVE HEARD VA BEACH HAS THEIRS AS WELL....I BELIEVE ONE BOAT IN VA BEACH IS LABELED KING OF THE VHF THERE


I BEG YOU GUYS .....I BEG YOU TO TRY TO HEAD OPFFSHORE JUST ONCE WITHOUT CLALLING EVERY TOM DICK AND CLETUS AS SOON AS YOU LEAVE THE DOCK! IF THESE HOG GUYS WOULD FOR ONCE JUST SHUT THEIR MOUTH ON THE VHF.....WE JUST MIGHT HEAR SOME VALUABLE INFO FROM THE CHARTER FLEET ONCE AGAIN

The chatter doesn't bother me as much as the CB lingo on a VHF. You know, all that what's your 20 and 10/4, breaker breaker. Nothing makes me want to take a ball peen to the set more than this crap.

There's nothing more annoying than listening to all those carolina Beach boys on the radio talking about stupid shit- like the fact that they had the best steak of their lives last night (yes Ive heard a 15 minute conversation about that ) I do agree that Port City Chop house has the best steaks around but I dont wanna hear about it while I'm fishin

Thanks for putting this out there Box. There's absolutely nothing more nausiating then listening to these types on the vhf, I've resorted to either shutting it off completely ( I can and do find my own fish) or just leaving it on 16...which by the way can be just as bad, especially on the weekends.
Instead of listening to this, turn on the Clarion, put in your favorite CD and CRANK IT!

Can you imagine how truckers felt when every tom ,dick and harry got a cb radio.

Do they still do the prayer in the morning? That was my favorite thing in the morning down there it kinda showed unity, as everyone leaves the inlet SINGLE FILE as one captain says a prayer and blesses the charer fleet. Then everone goes there own way and does there own deal not like the nothern rat race to see how many boats wided they can get in the inlet. Then everyone follows the charter boats cause they fish every day not just on saturdays. GOD I MISS NC.

I thought most of the commercial fleet is on one of the xtra channels. or even on cell phones or even sat phones. Well if that is the case and no one worthy of a sailboat is on 18 or in our case channel 1 then why not just turn it off or stand by on 16.
