That guy has been doing that for as long as anyone I've asked can remember. It's gotta be someone with a land based transmitter cause it really is every day in that area.

Up here all of the party and charter boats that are smart, but haven't gone to cells or sats, use the expanded channels. Most small boaters and inshore rec fishermen don't have these in thier factory equipped VHF which means we can talk in peace without everyone following the leader. Using 81a etc. is another option that helps keep the idiot traffic down or at least off our radios....

Evidently the guy heard me but still thought he would annoy us all by asking the same question just leaving his boat name out of it. Instead of saying predator comeback this is swashbuckler channel 18 every 30 seconds, we heard a tricky new predator come back to channel 18 every 30 seconds. I guess when the fishing is slow people get bored.
There was a guy on there yesterday that told some very un-radio-P.C. correct jokes about all sorts of things including carolinians for about a half hour straight yesterday. Also yesterday we had lost a compression valve in the steering and trying to raise the boat that was bringing us the part on channel 18 as a bad storm was coming. We tried to raise him two or three times and didnt get him and some other clown who knew our situation comes back and walks over us and starts talking about how its a bad time for the radio to go out and there is some bad weather coming and blah blah blah... No kidding STFU.
We were right behind Brian when he hooked his double yesterday and congrats and yes we saw that guy, and yes he was an idiot. We have decided that after a situation arises and there is no reaction from them on the radio, we are gonna start shooting flares at them.
Anyone know if the Swashbuckler is a 24' Albemarle?

I have no idea. I havent seen the boat before so it may be a small boat. I can tell you one thing though, it is probably glued to the side of the predator boat because this dude seriously calls the predator boat every other breath from 6 am until the afternoon. I wish this guy would just go fishing with the predator so that instead of all of us having to hear "predator come back to swashbuckler on channel 18", this guy could just get a tap on the shoulder every 30 seconds.

They can talk all they want, they just shouldn't do it on Ch 18 (or whatever your local charter fleet channel may be), with so many others trying to hail on that channel. Hail on 18, talk on some other channel! Shouldn't be on 18 more than just a few seconds to choose another channel for conversations. The standard tapping of the mike usually lets folks know if they're too long winded on 18.

Hahaha, I think that same guy nearly ran over us in a king tournament a few years back. He was spotting people left and right blinding everybody trying to run in the dark. Wish I had a little pellet gun or somthing to break the damn thing.

I have not heard the Seahawk in a couple years. Is he still around? Are they still jumping in the boat?

He was out at 5 fathom bank in November, the Whites were jumping in the boat. I think he was in his 12' Boston whaler that day. He wanted t know the limit on them as usual.

And it is nice going out single file and not have everyone tear through the inlet 100 mph and in a hurry to get to where they are going 5 minutes before everyone else.
Hatteras is the way it should be. When David on Godspeed does the morning prayer and you're heading out to do what you like best it's a great feeling. I remember several years ago Omie Tillet did the prayer one morning during the HVOO. It was real cool. He also spent time on the radio telling some really good stories throughout the day when fishing was slow.

I got a funny VHF story for y'all:

A friend of mine's old man was running a boat down the ICW one year and got hung up with a boat named "Caviar". All day long the captian is on the radio hailing every damn person, "Vessel, blah blah, this is the yacht Caviar, Caviar, Caviar," It got so bad that after two days of it he and a bunch of other boats stayed at the marina the next morning so old Caviar would get down the road and out of range.

Can you imagine listening to that crap all the way to FL?
