    Yellowfin hole 10/4

Went out to yellowfin hole area on Sundy with some friends. Ride out was a little rough, but 3hrs later we got there. Put in lines and trolled around for a while and finally had a double of wahoo's hit. One jumped about 20yds behind the boat before it bit off above the 2-3" of wire we had on. Other wasn't seen, but the same result. Got covered up by small tunas 30 min later, but no hookups. Finally got a small skipjack in the boat about an hour later with a chunk out of his side. Trolled for a long time watching the big boats pull in some hoos, but couldn't get another on no matter what we did. Finally got a lone dolphin in the boat and picked up a silver snapper on the bottom. We had a sailfish hit, but didn't stay on long, too. Made a stop on the way in and got a large cuda. 13hrs on the water and not much to show for it, but still a fun time. Saw some smoke on the water onthe way in and picked up radio chatter of some boats assisting another that was burning. Anyone have details on what happened? Wahoo hits on blue/white Islanders and dolphin on a red/black wahoo bomb. Sail on a green machine bar and snapper and cuda on jigs. Only thing we didn't try was live bait. Maybe we should have put that skipjack back out....
