XM weather on a garmin 4212
I have a Garmin 4212 and I am looking for info on the XM weather. Is it worth the money and are the Surface temps clear on the machine ????? Do they get good shots / are they effected by clouds ?
Thanks

Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
I activated XM weather on my Garmin 3210. I am very satisfied with all the features. The sea surface temp is within 1/2 to 1 degree. but does show the temp breaks. It also has the wave height. The nexrad storm feature is very accurate. I would suggest that you activate the premium package, I think it is the mariner's package. I have the fisherman's package and I am thinking about upgrading.

I have had the XM mariner's package for two years. The Water temps are accurate about 25 % of the time and seem to be based on a few days prior information. There seems to be a lag in information. The Nexrad radar loop is dead on accurate as is all the buoy information. I also like being able to pull up the buoys and marine forecast right on the boat. It also has the marine warnings. If there is a thunderstorm that is above a certain intensity the XM will show a direction fan for tracking. If you are getting it for the sea temps only I would say don't get it but if you are getting it for the weather it is well worth it. I dont bring a computer with me but I can pull up any weather, buoy info ,or forecast I need right on the boat.....Mark

I've had XM weather on my 3010 for four years and totally agree with Offshore's comments above.
