Wrightsville Beach stream report 9/22/07

[TROPHY SPORTFISHING]

Fished sat out around the 140-150 line 30-40 fathoms lots of bait marks fishing started pretty slow. Not much action for the amount of bait showing on the spots we fished catch a blackfin then a stinky and had something errupt off the dredge and grab the left flat no one saw it real overcast hell i couldn't even see the dredge20 feet behind the boat screamed off a 50 wide straight away then took a bat turn acros the right long and short pushing and throwing water the whole time well as luck would have it came off upon getting the rig back ballyhoo still there scaled down both sides and stretched no teeth marks oh well. After beating some good bottom and bait for the rest of the day we managed to start gettin bites pretty much stayed in the same 1 mile area all day ended up seeing a sail come up on left flat only to get spooked when the splitbill got fouled with a piece of grass could not get him to come to the pitch , catch a pair of gaffers, the blackfin from first thing A.M. and 8 wahoos. Finished out a pretty darn good day and made it home before the fire in the sky show got cranked up.
