Wrightsville Beach Offshore on Sunday

On Sunday we headed offshore with a boat full of 11-13 year olds. The weather man missed it again. Light and variable turned into 15-20 NE most of the day. The boys toughed it out and ended the day with 3 Wahoo, 2 Blackfin, 2 Mahi, and 2 King Mackerel, and lost several more nice Wahoo. The highlight of the day was 12 year old Charlie's 61 pound Wahoo caught on his first trip offshore ever. Fished all day between the 180's and the 200's in 30-40 fathoms.



We have the Fishin' Days in the boat yard this week, getting the bottom painted, doing some painting and varnish work and removing the tower from the boat. We are back fishing next week, but had a cancelation for Easter Saturday, so come join us.

That looks like a great crew to fish the Barta Tournament with this year! Congratulations! You all did better than another "fisherman" that went out on Sunday.

Man I love seein KIDS enjoyin the offshore waters. I know they had a great time. Good to hear the bite is pickin up. Dirty Martini is on the break today warming up for the Hook a Hoo Rodeo. Maybe we'll get a great report later.
