    wire pin rig

    ive got the regular pin rig down, but not sure how to go about the wire pin rig. we had a couple cut offs last trip, maybe wahoo, but trying to avoid that next trip. any advice greatly appreciated...

    The next bite on a jig.
    You leave the tag end of your haywire twist long instead of breaking it off flush. That is your pin.

    well thats simple enough. what about a chin weight? can you simply slide one over the haywire before doing the final twists?

    Normally I will do my hay wire. My tag end will be about 2" long. I just bend it down slightly and slide the weight down over the whole thing. Then trim off the tag end to the right height.

    The next step I do is to line everything up. I will pull tight on my hook to see if the pin is sticking straight up. If not I will give it a little tweak until its exactly inline with the hook.
