    Wire line for planer

I have fished braid on the planer rod for a while, and wanted to try out wire line. I do not know much about it, how to set up a wire line reel, and would like some input on it from ya'll.

I have no problem with the braid, just wanted to try something new for the fall.

    backing?
    what lb wire line?
any particular rod best for it?

This is my opinion. Why change over from the braid if it's working? I don't know if you will gain anything in switching to wire except for maybe more line vibration and the chance of kinks and loss tackle. I haven't been on a boat that runs wire line in MANY years but I'm sure there are guys who still prefer it, and I'm sure it has it's applications.

I see that you are from SC. and I'm guessing you would be targetting the same type of fish as us in NC. Unless you are planning on pulling umbrella or gorilla rigs for bluefish, I don't see the benefit of switching over from braid.
