Question White Marlin Hatteras and Oregon Inlet

Are the whites in thick in Hatteras and Oregon Inlet? Last year about this time it was going off. May try to get up there this weekend.

    Whites in OI

You might want to check the Pirates Cove web page for their tournament last week and it shows what the tournament boats caught. Coverage on here by Melton Tackle of the tournament, they did a great job.

Thanks. I was at PC last week. We caught some fish, but not like years past. I know how one week makes a difference. The Pirates Cove website hasn't shown a lot of fish and Hatteras Harbor website has been down.

Check OI Fishing Center and Teach's Lair. There are a few members of the site that charter fish out of OI and HI so hopefully they will chime in.

Jimmy C. These were the numbers for the tournament, but not the normal fleet at PC. Didn't mean to confuse.

You can go to the oregon inlet website and see what they are catching. They seem to be catching 3-4 billfish a day and its about the same down in Hatteras. Not great but they aren't billfishing either, they are meat fishing.

The White bite in Hatteras is about done for the year (yea, they'll still pick up a few). Things haven't really gone off yet at OI. Wait until after the first NE blow in a week or three and they'll be chewing off OI for a few days.
