Uploading some pictures before we let it out Jimmy.
Day 3 - Day left us a man short as Jake jumped on another boat with some friends.
We went to the numbers and started fishing. the details are getting foggy but I was camera bound today. The absolute hilight of the trip came on a Blue Marlin that attacked the left teaser. dumbshit me had gone up for a minute without the camera to ask a question. Blue Marlin comes up on the left teaser. Capt has a different method then we would typically use in the assult case. Capt. hand lines the teaser to the boat as as the blue follows it all the way to the riggers. They did it every time. then the mate yanks the teaser out of the water as quickly as he can and the fish ALWAYS makes a circle towards the outside of the rigger. All the while the angler is holding rod out to starboard but never moving the bait from the orginal position except for that he manually popped the flatline clip. EVERY SINGLE TIME the fish completes the circle at the left flat and the dropback commences.
Well everything was as planned except that when the capt yelled pull it. Their was no one their to pull it. Mate was in the shitter. Capt is stomping on the bridge deck like a four year old yelling for the mate to pull the F$#^%ing teaser. What we witnessed in that 10 seconds was the most vicous continual attack on a teaser I have ever seen. twice the fish hit the side of the boat when the mate finally made it to the teaser. But on cue once the teaser was in the boat the fish circled outside and wound up at the left flat bait where Donnie never moved it out of postion. That was the first of 4 Blue Marlin that we caught that day.
The last blue marlin was Donnie's third of the day. He was on fire. As he set the hook on the little blue an all out aireal assult ensued. The great thing about this fish as that it never dove which gave the capt a chance to show off the manueverablity of his boat and his skills. a 15 minute reverse chase that I will never forget. floored in reverse. A bill said that boat needed wheely bars cause he was gettin it. to the left, right in circles. The fish was never more the 40 yards for the boat but for 14 minutes never close then 40 yards either cause capt was on his ass. finally got the release and cruised home at 33 knots. END OF STORY
4-7 on blue marlin on the final day.
Jakes boat got 2 blues and 2 sails.
At the airport at 6:30am and in the door in Tyaskin, MD at 7:00pm
finally tally 10 for 20something blues
6 for whatever sails
IN THREE DAYS OF FISHING
I am going to upload some pictures tonight sometime or in the morning declaring the winner.
This is a place everyone must go to at least once in your life if you are into marlin fish. END OF STORY
