Where to go with the E and NER wind this weekend

Just wanted to see what all you experts think about this weekend for some offshore fishing with the winds that are forecasted. I know West and SW are the best, but how does this E and NE affect it? I have a friend coming in for the long weekend and plan on doing a mix of ofshore trolling, bottom fishing, and some fly fishing out of MHC. 90 ft drop sounds like a good start to me. Thanks for your help.

Cap't Tred Barta wrote a very nice

article in one of the Sportfishing mags recently outlining a strategy for the East Wind. he does not necessarily agree with the conventional wisdom that seems to prevail that "East is least." it made good sense to me.

try to find it and get some tidbits. and then go fishing.

    good luck

    GOOD MORNING TANKER DUDE

I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU SIR.....WHY ARE YOU SELECTING THE 90 FT DROP?

AND IF YOU BOAT IS LIKE MINE ....A 23 GW GULFSTREAM....YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK THE FORECAST OUT ONE MORE TIME ...IT MAY GET A BIT SNOTTY THIS WEEKEND .......WHICH IS THE NORM AROUND HERE.

I FISHED SWANSBORO HOLE AND A COUPLE MILES NORTH YESTERDAY AND IT WAS A BIT OUT OF THE NE........FAIR TO GOOD FISHING .....THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY ABOUT AN EAST WIND....YOU WILL NOT CATCH EM AT THE DOCK

Trollman, Thanks for the info on the Barta article, I'll check it out.

Box, 90 ft drop is the nearest place I have heard consistent reports of Dolphin lately. Yes, my boat is smaller than yours (Kencraft Challenger 206) and I have to keep a close eye on the WX. But, I have to take advantage of opportunities to fish when I can.

So I did end up going to the 90ft drop today and worked off to the Big Rock. Got a late start and ended up with 4 nice Dolphin (and a friend's first). wind kicked up and made it home a little worn out, but good experience. And to my surprise, I did see another KC 206 out there as well.

Looks like Sunday and Monday may be fishable, but I don't trust a forecast past 24 hrs, and 12 is better!

Good luck to anyone heading out, I'll be on ch. 68.
