Squid's wahoo story reminded me of two others involving wahoo.
I watched the Run off bring in a wahoo which upon cleaning was determined to have no less than three sea witch on mono rigs in his gut. When OCD mentioned it to Richard, the mate on the Impulse, Richard proceeded to describe all three witches (including a green lantern
) exactly. That fish had cleaned Impulse's mono spread prior to falling for captain B's Bridge pole.
Second story is the wahoo I caught under a weed patch two years ago. He cut me off on a jig and bait and then hook and bait prior to getting snagged on a wire king rig. My jig and hook, as well as every "clean cut" piece of cigar minnow I had chummed him up with, were in his gut:

I guess hi speed eating results in all kinds of "strange" food stuffs in wahoos!

The winners are the AJs on the East side of cape lookout with pretty fresh king mackerel rigs! Some come up with big gaff holes!
Black sea bass are the one that will come right back and give you your lost hook back!
In Sénégal we had broken off a Zuker lure that had tangled in a daisy chain. An hour later we got it back from a nice bull dolphin about a mile away...
Blue marlins taking 2 or 3 baits before realizing something is wrong... We caught one that had 5, 16/0 circles that must have come from longlines. Some totally rusted others real shiny!

Crab mustard is good
Once caught a wahoo in the keys on a king rig--all #4 wire leader, #4 live bait hook, #4 treble stinger. he had 3 other complete WIRE king rigs in his stomach--mostly treble hooks, and another mono rig hanging from his jaw. Plus my hooks.
during the years I chunked for tuna in the mid-atlantic, caught many tunas, mostly bft, that had other circle hooks hanging from their jaws. some were noticably mine--after having broken off at least one fish earlier in the bite.
while bailing mahi mahi, many, many times we broke off fish only to catch 'em a few minutes later, with the other hook still embedded in their jaw.
caught a white marlin of OC, MD that had a good size hole thru its bill--looked as though it was from a good size trolling hook--12/0 for sure. also had my 12/0 hook in it's head, along with a nice gash mark along its shoulder--missed gaff shot? or another critter trying to eat him? don't know, but that was one beat up whitey.
