Here is your blatent ad and thank you for the opportunity:
Sufix USA was recently purchased by Normark, who also owns Rapala, Williamson and other brands. Immediately after the acquisition, the wholesale price of Sufix Superior increased approx. 35%. This made me look around to see what my options were for my recommended line for my customers.
I asked some of the major line companies to send line samples for consideration. Hi Seas sent some 40# Grand Slam Hi Vis which I installed on my TLD 25's and went fishing. When my tech installed the line he came to me and said it really felt smooth and soft. When it came off the spool it had some memory, but once we fished it the memory essentially dissapeared after being stretched out. The line fished nice. Unfortunately, all we caught that day were a couple of dozen of False Albacore at the Hot Dog near OC - the line had no issues and performed to spec. I plan on striper fishing with the same rigs this fall, which will put alot of pressure on this line trolling heavy umbrella rigs.
Material: Grand Slam is 50% Nylon and 50% Co-Polymer. This forumulation makes it very abrasion resistant, have high strength, low memory and low stretch. The line over-tests as do most on the market today. It compares favorably to Sufix Superior, but the cost is much less. BTW, Sufix Superior is 100% co-polymer.
Price:
A 4.4 pound spool of Sufix 50# with 4810 yards now retails for around $130 or $.027027 per yard. I have yet to raise my prices, but it will soon happen.
A five pound spool of Hi Seas Grand Slam 50# with 5300 yards retails for $99 or $.0186792 per yard.
The Grand Slam is 45% less expensive than Sufix Superior and in my opinion is as good or better line.

Hi Seas Grand Slam will be my recommended line for 2009. We will also offer Sufix, Jinkai, Momoi, Trilene, Maxima, Ande, P-Line, and Gamma. All of these are good line companies, in my opinion.
