BILL THAT PIC OF MIKE WAS FROM BRAZIL...THATS WAS 2 BOATS BAILING 30LBRS...AND THEN GETTING TO THE DOCK AND DRINKING CAMPINAS.....![]()
This pic doesn't do this fish justice. It weighed a little over 60lbs. gutted. It was caught by one of my clients when I was in Hawaii. The guy holding it was a tall guy too.
I've had a couple touch right at 70 or perhaps 71 aboard boats I've run... Scotty here is 6'5" and 320... This was a rather large speciman.

That's not me in the picture, but I caught this one last year. My biggest by far. It was close to 47 lbs about 24 hours after it hit the deck.

Personal best mid 50's on a 100 lb. handline in off of Kona this past winter. We were catching mid-teens, and all of sudden that bull came from the depths. Also, hooked a 10-12 lb. pompano dolphin on a 8 lb. squid outfit, but he got me wrapped around the parachute cord before I could get him to the boat.
Yikes hand line 50 plus lb gaffers..Yikes...In Brazil we watched guys handline 100lb plus yellowfin with plastic hand line yoyos and 2 litter coke bottles.....Some great pics of some big Mahi..!!!!!!
OOOpps, you said biggest, not smallest. This guy hit a dink bait as big as he was. I stuck him in a 5 gal bucket long enough to get a tag in him.
