I am doing some home and boat repairs for my Capt. that I BFT'd with this winter. He owns 2 duplexes in Emerald Isle. so he or I are not there all the time, off season. Someone had the NADS to steal the HVAC unit from one of the units. Backed, right up, unplugged the electrical break dropped it on the ground, sawsalled off the mounting brackets cut the wires and copper lines and off they went. The thing of it is, it looked like it was going to fall apart, weathering, being right on the beach. I've never heard of this before. Do we have to start putting a security alarm on our HVAC units?

Not to me but my buddys truck was broken into, moved a 300$ coat, 500$ stabilizer binoculars, a remington 700 rifle with leopold scope had to be worth more than a grand, moved all that to get to his sean mann goose call a RNT duck call and about 45 duck and goose bands collected over 15 years.

check with the EI police dept. You are not alone. It is a common thing around EI. They are selling the copper out of them. My next door neighbor had his sawed off as well.

I left a shovel on the side of my office building one evening and when I returned the next morning it was gone. Never could figure out why someone would steal something they had to work with.

Copper can fetch a pretty penny...yes pun intended. We had a rash of it out here a few months back. Sad, sad, sad...who would have thought you needed Lojack on your a/c unit!

When I lived in Puerto Rico we got done surfing one day and got robbed at gunpoint. We didn't have any money so they took our surfboards and board shorts. Had to walk home naked.

I dont know how wild it is but I've had my snowboard stolen but luckily i got it back. It taught me an important lesson... LOCK YOUR SHIT UP!!!!
