There have been quite a few bad reports about the new Fin Nors, especially the bog OFS series. If you are going to buy Fin Nor, buy the older Ahabs that were made in the US before the company was bought. Since then the product has become inferior which is a shame because the older Ahab, IMO, was one of the best spinning reels made for the money. I buy every one I can find if it is in good shape.

I put the Fin Nor OS's to task last year with braid... and let just say they are the BOMB! Good luck finding anything better for 4 times the money.

Would I do it again? Yep, already did. Have two OS 65's for casting to breaking fish and added two OS 85's for the deep.

    Great reels!

I deep jig a lot and I've tried everything you can think of. Personally I use Stellas but for what's its worth here would be my suggestions

Shimano Saragosa - $299 range, The reel has over 44#'s of drag and mimics the look and feel of the Stella Series. The initial reviews have been great. I personally tried one on a recent trip and was very impressed for the price tag

Quantum Cabo/Boca. $199 range, Great reels for the money, doesnt have great line capacity but does have a good drag system and Ive used them on decent model tuna

Fin Nors - Run away, far away. They have had anti-reverse problems. I recently bought one to try it out becuase it just seemed to good to be true at $139.99. Two trips and guess what broke ... ant-reverse. Sounds like someone put a fork into a garbage disposal.

If you are really serious and dedicated to jigging eventually you will end up with a Stella or Diawa. Honestly the Stellas are a class of their own.
