Angry What's it going to take?

The price of fuel is completely out of hand and not such much as a whisper out of Washington about a solution. I think its time for the peasants with pitch forks to drag the traders and pols to the nearest tree and well you know. I mean this is total BS. There is enough oil in this country and off our coast to knock the hell out of the pricing, but nooooo the tree huggers and enviros have us all tied up in knots. And another thing, the hydrogen fuel cell thing is solved, but who owns the distributon rights and who has absolutely no incentive to make the change?

Let's just take the boating industry alone. Anybody care to guess how much this is hurting boating sales, boat servicing companies, tackle shops, fuel docks, etc.? I happen to know that fuel sales in marinas have damn near collapsed the last couple of years and now with these prices you can bet its not going to get any better.

Something has to be done and I MEAN NOW

I agree its time the powers in washingtion tell those smelly hippie tree hugger bastards to go pound sand. we need to drill and get our own oil as the rest of the world is turning their back on the good ol USA. If we dont drill there will be a war sometime down the road and this one will be for oil, not freedom. Fritz I have your video when your in cape may call me and I will bring it over to you.

How about we build some new refineries in the US. This alone would help alleviate some pressure on pricing. We have not built a refinery since the 70's. I agree with drilling more deep water wells. The Florida straits issue is beyond stupid. We don't want to drill because of environmental sensitivity, which I understand, yet other countries are already drilling there. Alaska is another issue. What about the new reserves they recently discovered in North Dakota up into Canada. The Brazilian just discovered an offshore field that rivals Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. There is oil out there that can be pumped. But we still have to refine it. Our govt needs to get there heads out of their rears and allow new refinery construction.

Thanks Kobey. I will be down Sunday to work on my wife's store in the Crest. The Briannan Leigh is sold and the Marlin Hunter is in Viking's Yard for some maintenance, so I won't be around the Marina, but I can stop buy and see you at your boat on Sunday if you are around. Otherwise, maybe you can leave the tape in the store with Chuck & Mary. Thanks Again!

Hmmm! Lets see, when Jimmy Carter was President is when a lot of the refineries here were shut down for environmental concerns(tree huggers) and because at the time we had an abundance of refining capacity(big oil wasn't making the big bucks like now) and the Iranians who were selling us a lot of oil decided to take some hostages. Seems to me what happened 30+ years ago has bit us in the a** and the tree huggers are doing everything they can to keep us from drilling on our own turf. So since Mexico has been so kind to send us so many of their citizens lets send the tree huggers to mexico to hug cacti so we can start drilling.

    haha I like that idea....
thing is, even if we built more refineries, we still wouldnt get ahead of the game. right now we are refining the worlds oil for them...not us. thats where the big oil co.'s are making the money. there are alliances getting forged between china and russia and india and iran to venizallia(sp) and they are all saying F.U. to the usa but we refine their oil if we dont refine their oil then they dont sell to us and guess what they dont have to anymore because china and india are buying alot more then we are. so what do they have to loose?..nothing at all, back in the day we were the super power we drove all the big cars and trucks flew all the planes, now we are getting the middle finger because they can.
F the tree huggers and drill we need our own oil.

I've heard about McCain's bill but that really doesn't seem like it would make that much of a difference either??

Hildabeast said last nite she wants to spend 150 bil. for alternative energy and hybrid. Maybe I need to invent a hybrid boat motor that runs on salt water.

    Unhappy How's business You ask!?

It's a good thing I have a second and third job! I love selling boats but I am glad I am not depending solely on the boat business during this crap or I would be panhandling! Between fuel, fish regs, beach and area closures and generally high boating costs, something's gotta give. I paid $4.33 a gal. today for diesel in My truck! Hey Fritzie, what's up?
