What is your WAHOO spread?

When the wahoo bite is on, run us through what you put in the water and where. Do you use a teaser? Do you run meat or straight artificial? This should be fun. Add pics if possible..

when targeting wahoo, every thing rigged on #8 or #9 bright piano wire....make leader lengths as long as you feel comfortable dealing with at the back of the boat....the longer the better. witches all around....blue/crystal, purple/black, black/red, black or orange, purple/char, pink etc on the flats, shorts, and longs. then something like an ilander or sailure of the above mentioned colors on the bridge pole. if you have a planer rod at your disposal, it needs to be down as well, with an ilander or upright troller/matanza type lure. i think wahoos really like a bait with a bulky, dark silhouette down deep. also, all of the above are fished with meduim ballyhoo.

as for teasers, ive seen wahoo come up and destroy just about anything. squidnation chains, blue/white ilander chains, flying fish chains, you name it.

as for artificials...braid maurauders, pink drone spoons, cedar plugs have all killed their fair share of wahoos. its just a personal choice as to whether you pull them in your spread. i also would like to do the hi-speed thing one day with some WahooKing type stuff....it looks like a blast.

For big fish cosistantly, you need to use wire-line. Seems like they are attracted to it. If you cant pull that off, any braid line will work. Braid Marawder, and a 32 oz lead (be sure to put wire on either side) with a 10 ft. leader and 3 eight inch lure skirts, with 2 oz leads seperating them with a Islander on top of them. One in each of the corners and then 4 50's I like a Islander with a strip for one long rigger and a Islander look a like that I tie myself. 3 oz bullet head tied like a sea witch.for the other. A strip on that also.
For my short riggers, I pull small marlin lures. Hard heads work better cause they are heavier. I use 49 strand cable for all my leaders. Single strand wire kinks and breaks too easily. with the cable you have no worrys. 200 lb. is plenty.
Watch it work!

For wahoo i love dark skirts..some of my favorites are Haloween,Purple/Black,Red/Black, all black..all purple. Just an assortment of dark colors. All on#8-#9 wire. I prefer piano wire.

The braid maurauders are awesome. I own over 30 of them if that tells you much. half are near about destroyed by wahoos.

I run Med. Ballys behind the jr. islanders..meds on witches..the braid maurauder back in the prop wash and noramlly a horse bally on the longs skirted.

The upright trollers are badass on the planers with med hoo.

And always pull Old Saltys...

I like to run Mega bait Seaboz in red/black and purple/black on the flats and 16-32oz bullet type lures in blue/pink and white/pink on the riggers. I catch lots of wahoo this way. I troll about 8-12 knots
