What do you do about the damn birds attacking your spread???

Its about that time for us to be hitten the stream and I've gotta question about how to deal with the birds attacking the spread, an issue I know a lot of us have. Seagulls among other small seabirds have proven to be pests out there for us and others attacking people's spreads, hell we've even hooked a few...so I was wondering how some of yall deal with them. Does hunting season reopen and you bring your ole shotgun with ya or what do you do about them damn things? cause once they find your baits they are usually pretty persistant and will not stop trying to take them. Baits are too expensive to be attacked by birds!

Well, the ones that you catch don't come back. Move to another spot and and others will find you. Its not something that happens every trip but its something very frustrating when tuna fishing since the baits are so far back. Running 60 miles is too far to have baits mutilated by rats with wings.

Turn downsea and they will fade off, usually. Trhe problem is when you have to turn back around they tend to catch right back up to you.

Take a bag of Doritos... the big bag..... crunch em up and dump them out. The birds will go after them and every boat around will head for the birds while your trolling away catching your limit.
