    If that rod is a old solid fiberglass blank it could be redone into an awesome DFA combo.

    This day and age.....with all the lever drags......that type of reel is mostly retired to teaser reels.....the rod is too long for DFA....so buy a spinning reel and mount to the 7 footer rod.
