Well I Went And Done It Now!,

I just ordered my first digital camera set-up, the whole shabang!!! Settled in on an Olympus Stylus Tough 8000, supposed to be shock-proof and water proof down to 33 ft. Now all I gotta do after it get's here, is figure out how to turn it on. I smell trouble. Frank

    Welcome to the '90s Frank...

Seriously congrats. I've been very pleased with Olympus cameras - Once you turn it on, all you gotta do is push the button.

    Waiting for the first pics

    Frank,
Flash cards are cheap, and can be erased very easily once you copy the pictures off - Do yourself a big favor and set the resolution to the highest the camera will support...

You won't fit as many pictures on a card, but you can never go back and get that shot at higher resolution....

There are lots of free utilities to reduce the resolution for posting, but if you get a great shot and want to blow it up, low resolution shots will come out grainy...
