Well it finely happened

Today was a first for me. In all the years I've been fishing and working on boats I have NEVER fallen overboard...till today! I was on the Predator today and we had just pulled in the slip and I bent over to tie a line to the boat when the receipt for the Ice we just got blew out of my pocket into the water. No biggie, I'll get the Gaff and get the receipt. Well I grab the gaff and head to amidships. As I was making my way around the lines of the outriggers one of them grabs me, turns me sideways and causes me to miss my foot on the toe-rail. Many things went through my mind as I was falling between the boat and the pilling but that all went away as my left elbow hit the pilling full of Oysters and Barnacles...then the sudden impact with 54 degree water. As I pop up with left arm killing me, first thought was my glasses. I open my eyes and there they were a foot from my face and slowing out of sight. As mother nature was smiling-laughing her but off at me along with a deck of a 100 or more people, my right hand finds my glasses...thank God for that.
I now know how deep the Dockside Marina is on a low tide. As I get up on the dock with my left arm bleeding like a stuck pig, I think about what is in my pockets...humm, car keys, yep, gotem, boat cabin key, yep there it is. Other pocket, oh no...#!^#$###$$###$$ well I guess you saw that one coming...cell phone...arrggggg. Ok 100+ numbers stored in the memory and won't know wither I can get them out of the phone till Monday. A lot of them are from you guys here on the board, when you all can stop laughing long enough...will you please PM me with your phone number so I can put them in my new phone...you should have seen the look on the lady's face as I was standing in US Cellular dripping salt water on their floor ...best part was when she said "may I help you sir? " I looked at her and said "you think ... I need to get a new phone!" I reached into my pocket and handed her my phone...in 5 pieces where I had taken it apart to wash it out with fresh water and dry it out.
Ya, Ya I know...stay in the boat!

Been lucky around the docks but have been dunked a couple times... Threw myself in with a cast net once... Went over free gaffing a cobia and even took a swim trying to catch a pair of glasses falling off my face... It happens...

thank god that hasnt happened to me yet i went in the drink 3 times last year to unwrap bluefin from around the running gear the 3rd time after i got out of the water mr mako showed up deep i lose 2 to 3 pairs of sunglasses a year

I usually dump rubbing alcohol on cell phones and radios after they have been opened up. works sometimes. I hope your arm is ok.
