We opted to get away from the bay punch offshore for some wreck fishing in 20 fathoms and possibly a shark or some Bluefin this past Saturday and it payed off. We arrived at the first spot about 32 miles from Cape May inlet and we never had to move all day as the sea bass were there and on the bite. It was very tough picking through the shorts and dog sharks but we managed to put a nice catch together with fish to 18 inches. The water temp was 60 degrees for most of the day and reached 62 before we left. Bass bit on clam, squid, and mackeral strips. We tried a little trolling around the wrecks before we left but only managed slammer bluefish.
First nice fish of the day

Jim of Nev-R-Enuf Charters was kind enough to let Tyler and I use the little boats for some backbay Flounder pounding. We fished the afternoon for a few hours behind Avalon and did pretty good on the Flounder. Lot's of shorts but both boats managed to put a nice catch together with the biggest fish going 22.5". Mackeral strips and minnows did the trick.![]()
Nice catch for only a few hours of fishing!
