    WB Bottom Trip 4/22

Well ive been trying to get offshore for grouper some time now and everything finally lined up right. Spent Saturday night at the Marina rigging up and getting things ready and left 5:30 Sunday morning. Mrfishy and kris joined me for the day.

It was a beautiful morning with little chop and we pointed the Grady south to some numbers about 25 miles off WB. With a bump here and there we arrived around 7:00 and drifted over some bottom. Didnt see a whole lot of bait but put a few pinks and Bliners in the box but no grouper and lots of sharks . Fished for an hour or so and decided to run another 10-12 miles out.

We got to our area with not a whole lot of luck at the start but pulled up grunts and bliners knowing grouper were down there. Moved around and little and got on a good drift and picked up some reds..just over the size limit. Looked at our course and decided where exactly we wanted to be and before we knew it we were slingin meat in da box. It was good to see grouper..we were abit annoyed at the way the morning had started. We never got into the gags but got into the reds pretty thick for a while. We caught around 10-15 reds keeping 8 or 9. No monsters this trip but did have a few rock us on some smaller rigs.

Ended the fishing around 2:30 and got back at the dock a little after 4:00. We had 8 or 9 reds a king and a few Bliners and pinkys. Great day with good friends and i believe we all had a good time.

Sorry the pic isnt great and cant really see all the fish but here they are..enjoy!

Nice work guys. Tried to call you all twice but guess you were out of range. We would've bottom fished but completely for got the bottom rigs so instead we enjoyed a smooth 120 mile boat ride. Only got 2 strikes by some little dolphin. Nice day on the water though.
