Left out of Masonboro boat yard about 7:15 Sat morning once again to see if I could find a few groupers for the box.My crew was 4 deep today with two men named Barefoot and my new friends from Diawa, Katsuyi Asai and Marc Malkin. I looked at the tower buoy before I left and it said 3.9kts and 1.3 feet. What a great day to run I thought. When I cleared the inlet it was howling outa the NE at least 10-15. Well not being one mind a fews bumps I pushed the throttles down and charged throught it. Offshore it was beautiful bait everywhere drop after drop producing red grouper after red grouper. My friends from Diawa had never been grouper fishing before so what a great day to break them in. We caught them on both bait and jigs. Anchored and drifting. Great crew great day. Wind laid down in the afternoon and let the whaler eat on the way back to the tune of 37+ kts what a great ride home.
