War in Iraq Bring them home or let them fight

Today on the front page of the paper 4,000 truly dedicated US service men and women have died in Iraq. Is this getting out of control? Some of our service men and women have been deployed to Iraq three times in the last four years. Some guys since they have joined have spent more time in a combat enviroment then they have on US soil. Where do you stand? Should we keep fighting or bring them home.

Un-tie their hands and let them fight. We have to many restriction on them. My cousin has been there since the second week after 9-11 (Black Hawk Helicopters) off and on...more on than off. It has been refreshing to hear what is going on from his side and not what the media is telling us. For the most part, it has been 2 completely different stories...
Of the troupes that are over there, the re-enlistment while in this "Action" is higher that any other time of war since ww1, so that leads me to believe that the men and women that are there also believe that we should still be there..I know Hardy do not want to leave this unfinished.

    Mrs. Capt-D, Liam and Avery!

Although the loss of any human life especially during war is tragic...

...4000 in five years is an astoundingly small number if you think about it.

    World War I (1917–1918)
    Battle deaths 53,402
Other deaths in service (nontheater) 63,114

    World War II (1940–1945)
    Battle deaths 291,557
Other deaths in service (nontheater) 113,842

    Korean War (1950–1953)
    Battle deaths 33,741
Other deaths in service (theater) 2,833
Other deaths in service (nontheater) 17,672

    Vietnam War (1964–1975)
    Battle deaths 47,424
Other deaths in service (theater) 10,785
Other deaths in service (nontheater) 32,000

Let them do what they are trained to do and do not hamstring them in those duties!

No matter where anyone stands on this note. Please support them ALL while they are deployed. They are ones that give us the ability to have the choice to say where we stand!

Give them everything they need to do their job, including 100% support.

The troops should never have to read negative things while they are dying for our freedom.

I believe that most of them want to finish the task.

My prayers are with them and my support.

Dude, x3 or x4 would be 12,000 - 16,000. I'll bet we killed more than that during the invasion.

Will someone much more asute than me please explain exactly what the U.S. strategic goal is at this point in time?---- what is the ultimate objective at this point? I am honestly confused. Five years ago, the stated reason to invade Iraq was to oust Sudam Husein-- biological weapons, crimes over humanity, etc. After Husein, it was to help restore the Iraqi government to one in which ITS people wanted. Here we are 5 years later and I frankly don't know what the U.S. plans to accomplish strategically.
    Can anyone enlighted me?

It shouldnt matter how many more we have killed. What matters is for every man/women U.S. soldier killed is a loss for us and thier family members.

I support our troops, my nephew is a marine.

My feelings are we should cut bait...

This is a very sensitive thread here and it could get ugly....!!!

Lee - Loud and Clear on the "2 Stories". Don't believe the media... talk to a soldier.

There have been a comparable number of casualties in the nation's capitol over the past 5 years...
