Wanting to start gearing up fpr stripers

Wanted to get some opinions on gear for striper fishing out of Oregon inlet. Just wondering what the norm is for rod/reel set up, and what most are dragging behind the boat. Any info like trolling speed, depth is truly appreciated. Any books or other avenues for info available would also be greatly appreciated. I've had bits and pieces of info from others but looking for all the opinions/info I can get. I have a young son that is eat up with the outdoors but is a little young for offshore adventures but might be able to make it out with me nearshore for some fun weather pending. I am fishing out of a 30'CC.Thanks

Sure Frankie will be able to help you out with that when he sees the post. We had a couple of great days in early Jan last year and hopefully the same class of fish will be around again this year.

    Good luck!

Trollin sped 2.5 to 3.You can catch em up to 4kts but its getting a little fast.
three way swivel rig, 80lb momo

    WHITE WORKS WELL
    chartruse

    flat lines 2

    3 way swivel rig.
tie the main line to the top of the 3 way
tie a piece of 60 to 80lb momo to the bottom of the 3 way and tie on a 34oz mojo on the other end ( 18 to 24 inches)
tie 60 to 80 lb leader on the middle ring of the 3 way this one nedds to be 10 to 15 feet long, tie on a 3 to 5 oz parachute.

    Riggers or gunnel holders.
    same rig
3 way rig, but instead of a 34oz on the bottom bait you want a 3 to 5 oz parachute and a 2 to 3 oz parachute on the way back bait, the 10 to 15 ft leader.

Thats how we do it on the bay and va beach.
Not sure if that makes sense,(Im not very good at that ),if not I can do ya a caveman drawing,or pm me will be glad to help.

I'll confuse you more. Up here we use bunker spoons (on wire line), or umbrella rigs with rubber shads or tubes, and Mann Stretch Lures (on braid or mono)
