Sea Marie, Been there, did that with my 28 Albe. Great, strong head sea boat. Nicely laid out for 2-3 fisherman. BUT stop in a 3' beam sea every 5 seconds sea with the 24 degree deadrise I cannot stay standing without hanging on for dear life. My changing health situation requires me to get a comfortable boat with outboards and 18-20 degree deadrise. I can't even do engine rooms anymore! Oh well, we are all changing! Fred
Have you considered a Hydrasports 2900VX. I've been fishing this boat for 5 1/2 years now, the 23 degree deadrise will ride much better than the coastal or robalo, not sure about the pursuit. My offshore run is 60-80 miles one way in the mid atlantic. Still have to pick your days but handles the slop very well. Price usually comes under those 3 boats you mentioned.
hi fishdad, To be honest I was told the Pursuit was the best construction. Hydrasport with there 23 degree deadrise may roll to much for me in a drifting situation. The Albe was 24 degree. I like the layout of the HS but all for manufacturers are basically the same. Thanks for the suggestion. Fred
I'm sure you know this sounds like you've been around a while....sea trial them all before buying. If you're ever around Hampton, VA I'll take you out in some slop and you can judge for yourself vice taking other people words or strangers on the internet. Good luck. While a bad time to sell a boat, it's a great time to buy, lots on the market to pick from and good deals to be had from desparate sellers.
Forgot to ask ya, what power do you have? What is your cruise rpm's, speed and GPH? Top end speed and rpm? Finally, I had hope you would say something about the roll characteristic's drifting in a average 3-4' sea 6 seconds apart? How many degree's would you say she rolls, does she snap roll back or is she slow. If your live baiting off Stuart Fl you need to spend up to an hour or more drifting over structure while jigging with sabiki rigs to catch greenie's and the like. That's where the Albe DID NOT shine! I love to take you up on the offer of a ride but I'm going the opposite direction Weds! Again, thanks. Fred

Fred, I've got twin Yamaha F250s. Power is just about right for the boat but hey, more is good too. HS boats are heavy but the 250s do well. She cruises most fuel efficient at around 4300 RPM at 1.4 MPG at 28 knots, sometimes less if I'm fully loaded and in bigger head seas. My boat is listed on the Yamaha performance bulletins and the numbers shown are very close to actual. She does roll in a tight chop but does not snap back as bad as other boats I've been on. I overnight often offshore and it can get uncomfortable if the winds and seas kick up while on the drift at night. I only brought the the HS up because of the price point. If money is no object, there are plenty of higher end boats I would go for but to me it's a good mid-tier boat that gets me out there. I'm not a HS dealer so not trying to hock my boat, just is close in size and features to the ones on your A-list that I think is worth a look-see. Good luck.
