You certainly have a point, and if the kids were asking for those sorts of gifts for themselves, I'd feel exactly the same way. The fact of the matter is that what the kids asked for was for the clubs - to be shared by all of the members of the club...

The Boys and Girls Clubs provide a safe location with adult supervision for these kids - they have a place to do their homework - and someone to help if needed, and then plenty of games and activities to keep them occupied - either after school or during the summer.
The activities include Basketball, ping pong, a computer lab, board games, etc - Most of the kids are a lot more active and safer being at the clubs that at home without supervision.
