John, good luck with your son. . . I hope he recovers quickly. I did the whole tonsil and adnoid thing 2 years ago and it is not a fun experience. . .As for food for him, try getting sliced canned peaches and cut them up very small, it was the only thing that I ate for a few days, but it did make me feel better, maybe it could do the same for your son.
This fish was definately close and may have been it if they plugged the holes and got her on the scale right away, but such is life. I'm sure we'll find out soon. I'll do some research on it.
When the fish came over the side of the boat Capt Pete said we should run in and get her on the scale cause he thought we might of had a all tackle record.
We all knew she was a big ass wahoo but its hard to believe that you may have cuaght a wr.
After a few minutes of pictures and getting the wahoo in the box We kept trolling for about 6 more hours.
Our thoughts of the fish after calming down were that we had a 120 to 130 lb wahoo on board. So when she hit the scale and showed a 148 we realized that if the rumor is true that fish can loose up to 10 to 15 % of there wieght in the box draining blood , fluids and all that fun shit we only ended up 10 lbs short witch if we made the run back in we may of had the new world record . All any of use seemed to care about though was having a good time and catching some fish.
This wahoo was a complete bonus and like i said before this fish will make the trip stand out as a once in a life time fish and trip for me .
