The weekend was a wonderful one to say the least. Whenever I get to spend quality time with my son or fish with friends I am thankful. This weekend I was blessed enough to do both. I recieved a PM from SeaBiscuit Saturday with a late invite to go fish with Captain Brian Harrington of ExtremeMeasuresCharters on Monday. I cringed because the people I needed to speak with about getting a day off are usually hard to convince without a little advanced notice. Dad gave me the day off and The Wise One approved it.
Sunday my son and I went to the farm pond for the day. Biscoto called me and said the Beast thougt it might be a little sporty Monday for the Contender and the plan was made to fish the Run-Off. Dave and I were in the parking lot at 4:15 and the Beast and John were already full speed ahead getting the boat perfect. The Nicks arrived and off we went into calm seas. Of course the wind laid since we were in the Run-Off.
Conditions were beautiful. The Ocean was full of bait. We found a very nice temp break where the water went from 66 degrees on up to 70 within a few hundred yards. I half expected the Tunas to jump right in the boat when Beast pulled the stick back. It was not to be though. We trolled and trolled and trolled. The spread was beautiful but the fish were uncooperative. About 10:00 a missle shot through the spread and swiped a hoo without getting stuck good. I was looking at the bait when it happened and still cannot believe how fast the Wahoo streaked by. 15 minutes later I caught the splash of a descending Wahoo. The Biscuit was fortunate enough to have been paying attention and later told me this fish was fifteen feet in the air and tried to eat the bait on it's descent from the sky(which was the splash I saw). Not long after that we boated one finally. Then another Wee-hoo. Then we trolled and trolled and trolled. Brian worked and worked and refused to leave without more blood. Not to my suprise around 2:00 he found the bonitas busting the surface and soon we were in Wahoo Pandemonium. The Beast got a glazed over look and started making circles and passes over an edge that appeared to go from 38 to 59 -60 fathoms pretty quick.(I watched his bottom machine the whole day). We put four slobs in the boat and released one at the boat that was clearly the biggest of the day. All in all we had a terriffic trip. The seas were very comfortable and the company was a pleasure. I cannot say enough about the Captain Brian. He never sat down once that I saw. He constantly pays attention to details. More on this later. I do not have time to do this report justice. We came back from a slow day on the Run-Off with six Wahoo, five of which I consider slobs. I have several memories and even more good laughs.
One particular thing that was quite disturbing happened as we came back through the inlet. Brian's new mate( all 6'3 230# of him) proudly raised his shirt and flashed his man boobs at us

! He evidently has a second job as a dancer or something...John is a terriffic guy and was a pleasure to meet. He went above and beyond the call of duty and it was appreciated, however, you did NOT work hard enough, nor will you ever work hard enough, for me to feel even the slightest tinge of obligation to help you remove the man pasties from your chafed nipples.(Despite being asked politely). The screams heard while you removed them yourself will forever be etced in my nigtmares.

I'll post my pics tonight. Lots more to tell, just can't right now. Back to work till later.
It really was a pleasure to meet John and to fish with te Beast again. Thanks again fellas!
