HAVING ONCE BEEN IN THE MARINE CANVAS BIZNESS FOR OVER 20 NAUTICAL YRS , I CAN TESTIFY FOR BOTH BRAKE MARINE CANVAS AND ALSO LARRY INGRAM'S CANVAS LOCATED ON THE ATL BEACH CAUSEWAY.....FOR I HAVE SEEN THE FINAL RESULTS FROM BOTH COMPANIES....

A COUPLE TIPS WHEN SEEKING OUT CURTAIN WORK/REPAIR/REPLACEMENT

ASK FOR MARINE GRADE THREAD, MILDEW RESSISTANT -UV PROTECTED MARINE VINYL FABRIC....AND ASK FOR 40 GAUGE CLEAR VINYL WINDOWS.....I ALWAYS PREFERRED THE STRATAGLASS CLEAR VINYL....IT IS HAILED AS A SCRATCH RESISTANT MATERIAL AND WITHSTANDS HARDCORE OFFSHORE CONDITIONS....THIS IS A ROLL UP VINYL....

DID YOU KNOW THAT IF YOU CHOOSE TO STORE YOUR CURTAINS OFF THE BOAT DURING OFF SEASON THAT THEY SHOULD BE HUNG VERTICAL (UP AND DOWN) AND NOT STORED ON A FLAT SURFACE?

AND IF YOU ATTEMPT TO INSTALL A CURTAIN ON A T-TOP AND IT HAS "SHRUNK" TO WHERE THE SNAPS NO LONGER ALIGN EASILY......THAT YOU CAN WRAP THAT CURTAIN IN A BEDSHEET WHEN IT IS AT ROOM TEMP AND PLACE IN IN A "CLOTHES DRYER" TO SOFTEN IT UP........DO THIS FOR ONLY 3--4 MINUTES IN A PREHEATED DRYER.....THEN TAKE IT OUT AND QUICKLY ROLL IT UP IN A BLANKET AND HUSTLE TO YOUR BOAT TO INSTALL........IT WILL BE MUCH EASIER THIS TIME.

Any way we use only TENARA thread with all our curtains it has a LIFETIME WARRANTY SEAM FAILURE IS THE SINGLE MOST COMMON REPAIR IN THE CANVAS WORLD. WE DO THIS WITH EVERY NEW CURTAIN SET.

I can vouch for Zack at Brake Marine. I needed some tweaks and additions to my canvas and they did a great job.

Careful with all this wind taking off the existing canvas no telling where it could get blown to.
