VIDEO HELP THREAD

I Bought a new video camera a couple of months ago. it is challenging to say the least. it is a canon hf 20 and outputs in AVCHD. the only thing i can do with it right now is shoot, hook to tv and watch, import to my computer with the software that came with the camera. if i try to open a file with anything but in side the software, pixela image maker 3SE ver.5. i bought Pinnacle 14 but it locks up on my laptop.

so here goes with a few questions about video:

1. is posting to youtube and then posting that to SFC the best way to go.
2. does youtube or sfc support high definition video
3. if so do either support AVCHD
4. if not what lower format to set camera to
5. can the camera's soft ware, after downloading convert the format to something that can be uploaded to SFC

well that should get us started on how to get video up on the boards

I just shoot the video, edit it on my apple and then click share with youtube and then the computer does the rest.

i forgot to say that i don't have an apple computer everybody that has one loves it but i grew up in the business world and it was strictly big blue and such

Yeah, My Dad worked for Big Blue for 33 years. He rolls his eyes everytime he uses my laptop. But, once its in his hands, he won't let go.

Its interesting how the apples don't have a "alt" key. I wore out the control/alt/delete keys on my dell.

I would ask Box how he does his. He is on a PC.
