Very good big tarpon bite...

for this time of year in PR. I had Jeff, who should be a member soon, from Philly whi is an IT guy who wanted big tarpon. The fish in the lagoon are pretty small until october and I told him so. He is even willing to go catch kings on the pinnacle just off the beach, but wants big fish an who can blame the guy? We got along from thestart and head out of the marina in search of bait, ther it be baby! Threw the net no more than 200 feet from my slip and the small bait bs continues, but we got bait dude, and I will make due We had a strong incoming tide and the water was crystal...I am headed to san jose and lo and behold there is an 80lber swimming under me, hey that a sixty over ther...I can still see the dock and the atlantic...(this happens at night often, but not usually big gurls during daylight)I saw three, all over 50 in one spot, who cares where we be? I anchor and start chumming...Jeff loses a sixty to nonbowage, then a fitty(for Carom), then another close to seventy...Then it happens, and Jeff is hooked up to a 60 to 70lber and it goes on for two hours and ten minutes and the sob takes 50 yrds of drag as I do my best to get between him and the groves and breaks us off. The sob travelled about 1 mile between hookup and "release". I have alot of video, but I can't edit or whatever like BOX and HOLWHATCHGOT can. Help please

Sounds like you did your part getting the four big bites. As for video editing, it will make you want to break things. I am a beginner at best, but if you send me a memory card with the footage on it, I will do what I can with it. I could always call da shoe or da box for help. Send the HD card and if I can't do it I'll get somone who can. Nice report man.

and I think if I have to send off my sd card I will wait for something better. I have 30 minutes of vid with no jumps or fish, just me running my mouth about tarpon habits and Jeff pumping and reeling. I want one from the start of the bite to the landing. Can anyone recomend a reasonably priced camera I could mount on the boat with a remote?to capture the whole scene???
