Fished the Jump yesterday with Bouzon Boy.Drove down and launched at Cypress Cove, hit the river which is literally a 15 min drive to the spot. Never fished here all year and to our surprise they stated coming over the sides. Finished our limit by 10 o'clock. Most were caught under a cork, fishing the birds and the others were caught carolina rigged with a #4 khale hook live shrimp. Here are the pics.

What's the word on those stripers. NC hatchery fish, right? I believe they are not native to the delta, but were planted there?

Nick, We don't catch them to often b/c of where we fish.This was the first time we actually fished in the Miss River. The Miss River has always held some big stripers, the river is so low right now it's a beautiful green color and really brackish right now. But I would say they are not native but somehow got into our river system. I would like to know myself how we got them.
Coal yard on the east side of the river, in Devant.
After Katrina, the fence around the yard looked like a gill net full of stripers. I will see if I can dig up the pictures of it.
