    Venice is on FIRE!!!!!!!!

    YFT and Sword
Got back yesterday and was too tired to post a report but here it is! Had some good friends that wanted YFT and they couldn't wait for the weather to lay down. Left Sat. morning around 12'oclock from Venice and headed South to make bait, first rig was a bust and moved again till we filled the livewell up with sardines, tinker macks, and a dozen hardtails. From there we went straight to the tuna grounds and it was on like donkey kong! Managed 9 YFT and 2 black fins before we called it quits and headed for sword central. Pulled up on our sword numbers and drifted 3 baits and no more than 30 minutes went by and we were bit, I jumped on the reel and fought a sword for approx 20-25 minutes before he was within 20 ft of the boat and made a big run and 2 wacks of his sword and chaffed thru the 250# leader and broke off. Got back and sent another bait down and by this time it was 3 in the morn and we were pulling the lines in getting ready to head to the house and all of a sudden the pole bends half way over and we are hooked up again! Mike takes the pole and fought the beast for a solid 45 minutes before the beast was boat side and ready to get a free ride home! I want to thank Joe Hanna, Jim Hanna, Mike Buffington for such an enjoyable trip! Can't wait til next time. Small Video to Follow!

and it was hardtails, tinker mackerel, cigar minnows, and goggle eyes for bait. It didn't matter they ate everything I put out. We never had a bait in the water for more than 5 minutes and the boat was plugged in less than 45 minutes. The sword thing was stupid easy too. I just picked some numbers off of a satellite image in the area I wanted to fish. Joes trasducer was not working so it was all guess work. We never saw a tuna before we hooked one and I had to guess at the depth while swording.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,

Outstanding fishing fellas. Making us all very jealous!
We understand it must have been very busy but would love some "action" shots next time.
    Great catch!
