#1 Croaker Hunter
Uninvited Guest in My Chicken Coop
I found this guy in my coop this morning. He found a spot on top of the coop where the wire overlaps and mannaged to force and cut his way through. When I found him, the rooster had the hens in the house portion of the coop and was guarding the entrance. That rooster certainly earned his keep for a change and I wont mind as much when he wakes me up at 4:00 AM tomarrow.
I was tempted to keep the owl for a while and I was also tempted to shoot him
He did mannage to decapitate one hen.
With the barrel of my shot gun, which he bit, I scooted him towards the back and used a shovel to scoop him out.

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. I think our yard light must help to keep the owls out of my fowl. They don't cause me much trouble. I would not have let him live had i caught him as you did. Last one that troubled me found his way into one of my dog pens.
Just wondering what type hen that is in the pic?????

These Federally protected birds are for me the ultimate Taliban, eh I mean Predator when it finds your free yard restaurant... They nest pretty early in the year and loose their heads to keep on feeding the babies. Quite amazing how he dared attack your roost! Thanks for sharing.
